Students should have uploaded their performance tasks to the digital portfolio for the college board and should finalize them.
Class time this week will be spent reviewing for the final exam. The final exam will be on Tuesday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 1st in class. I have moved this up a day to make sure we have enough review days. All review materials are posted on the lesson plans.

Welcome Back! Hope everyone had a great Spring Break! Let's get ready to finish the year strong.

All students should upload AND finalize both the Create Task and the Explore task by Friday, April 19th.
Final exam will be held in class on Monday, April 29th and Tuesday, April 30th.
AP Exam is on Friday, May 10th @ noon.
All students are highly encouraged to purchase an AP review book to prepare for both the final exam and the AP exam.

Monday - Friday: The students will be working on their Create Task that will be submitted to the College Board for 24% of their AP Score. This is a program and written assignment. Students are not allowed to seek outside help or feedback on this project. They will receive 12 class hours to work on this at school but can work on it at home if they choose. Keep in mind that if they work on it at home, parents, siblings, neighbors, etc. are NOT allowed to help them. Any outside help will result in a potential plagiarism flag. We will begin the official Create task on Monday. Students will have 12 class hours to complete this project. It counts as 24% of their overall AP score. We will work for five days before spring break and 7 days after spring break.

Thursday: lab day to work on projects
Friday: Mini-lecture and demo of Lists. Continue working on projects.

I was out sick on Friday of last week so our test is moved to this week.
Monday: Test on Python (input/output, math operations, conditionals and loops)
Tuesday: Progress check on functions
Wednesday: Intro to lists. Required list assignments
Thursday & Friday: Coding days
Monday: All loops assignments due at the beginning of class. Discuss test and distribute study guide.
Tuesday: Mrs. Whitlock will be out of the building for a county meeting. Students will have the class period to work on the study guide or continue coding Python Functions in CodeHS
Wednesday: Discuss loop projects. Check study guide.
Thursday: Personalized review groups.
Monday: NO school - holiday
Tuesday: No school - professional development day for teachers
Wednesday: Individual progress checks. Continue with coding in CodeHS, repl.it or collaborative design based projects
Thursday and Friday: Small group instruction on either loops, Strings, lists or functions. Students who are not in small groups will continue coding.
We are continuing our exploration of the Python programming language. Students have been allowed to choose between repl.it, codeHS or EarSketch to practice their skills. All students should have finished basic conditional code. I will be doing progress checks twice a week.
Monday: Practice tracing nested conditionals
Tuesday: Progress check. Introduction to loops for those students who are new to loops.
Wednesday: Quiz on conditionals. Student should be able to trace complex conditionals and predict output.
Thursday: Coding day and progress checks
