Monday: Chapter 15 test
Tuesday: Programming again!! Woo hoo! We will go through lessons 1 & 2 in EarSketch. Wednesday: Lessons 3 & 4 in EarSketch. Thursday: Return tests. Reformulate teams if needed. Continue with EarSketch/Python. Friday: I will be out of the building for a workshop. Student teams will work on a business research assignment. Monday: Vocab quiz on Chapter 15. I will also give students the study guide assignment for the upcoming test on Monday, September 24th.
Tuesday: Class activity on OSI layers Wed & Thursday: Demos & class activities covering DNS, IP addresses, Ping, traceroute, etc. Friday: Review day for the test. Students should come to class with the study guide completed and questions/topics that they would like to discuss. I will be at a conference Monday - Wednesday. The students will have several Internet assignments to work on while I am gone. All assignments can be found on my lesson plans and will be posted on Google Classroom on Monday morning.
Thursday will be a discussion of the packet switching concepts and Internet fundamentals relating to their assignments. On Friday, we will participate in a packet switching activity in class. No school on Monday for the Labor Day holiday! Enjoy!
We will be starting our unit on the Internet and networking and will be using our textbooks (Chapter 15th). Students do not need to bring the textbook to class but will need to use it at home for reading, vocab and other assignments. We will also be participating in many classroom activities during the next few weeks that will illustrate the abstract concepts of networking fundamentals.. Your attendance is very important.
