Whew...last week was crazy. Hope everyone enjoyed the snow days. I have made the adjustments to our unit plan. Most importantly, since many students had their code files on the school computers, I have made labs 2 & 3 due on Tuesday at the beginning of class. Monday: Discuss updated unit calendar. Introduced enhanced for loop and discuss object behavior of arrays. Timed MC questions at the end of class
Tuesday: Labs 2 & 3 due. Introduction to ArrayLists
Wednesday: Lab day to work on labs 4 & 5
Thursday: Written component of lab portfolio. Lab time
Friday: Introduction to Linear and Binary Searching

Labs 2 & 3 will now be due to me by Saturday, 1/20/18 at 11:59 pm so that I can print & create the written portion for class on Monday. Email these files to me. We are starting Unit 6. This is a large chapter so I am dividing into two components. Unit 6a will cover Arrays, ArrayLists and Searching. Unit 6b will cover sorting and 2D arrays.

Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! We have three weeks of classes and then a week of finals. Let's finish strong!
Monday: Return loops test and discuss
Tuesday: Optional pretest on classes & objects OR practice FRQ on loops
Wednesday: Intro to classes and objects. We will be writing a class and a runner class.
Thursday: Students will write their own class and runner class.
Friday: Students begin module 1
Monday: Loops test --- Multiple choice section
Tuesday: Loops test -- FRQ section
Wed: Module 8 - Game lab
Thursday: Module 8 - Game lab
Friday: Module 8 due in class, return tests and FRQ practice

Monday: I will hand back the Conditionals test and the loop quiz. We will discuss these in class. If time remains, we will begin our introduction to nested loops.
Tuesday: We will continue with instruction on Nested Loops. Students will be working in Module 6 and then move to Module 7.
Wednesday and Thursday: Students continue working on Module 7. It will be due on Thursday @ 11:59 pm. During class, I will work with students individually or in small groups based upon questions and struggles with loops.
Friday: We will review for the Loops test which will be on Monday, Nov. 13th
