Monday & Tuesday: Finish CodeHS > Python > Basics and console interactions. I will be doing live coding demos each day to clarify topics. Those videos will be on Microsoft teams.
Wednesday & Thursday: Python practice on Python IDLE Friday: Python quiz #1. Topics: naming rules, mathematical operators, order of precedence, user input, output, String concatenation, variables, assignment statements. Quiz will have multiple choice questions, short answer and handwritten coding sections.

I am starting to make instructional videos when I demo coding in class. Here is a link to the video we made on Friday that covers Python basics (comments, variables, assignment statements, etc.).

Tuesday & Wednesday: Last days to work on Explore task in class Thursday: Upload explore task draft to digital portfolio. Begin python coding Friday: Continue will introductory python coding. All students will be working on the Explore Task, one of the required College Board Performance tasks. All materials can be found on my lesson plans or in Google Classroom.
Students will be given 8 class hours to work on the Explore Task. This task must be submitted to the digital portfolio by January 21st in draft mode.

Monday & Tuesday: Students will complete YouScience, a career exploration tool. Wednesday & Thursday: Students will analyze the APCSP Explore task and make a detailed checklist of requirements. The explore task is one of the two performance tasks that must be submitted to the College Board. It compromises 16% of their overall AP score for APCSP. This project MUST be completed independently. Students will have 8 class hours to complete the task. Friday: Day 1 of 8 for the Explore Task. |
